Setting up this window display was an excellent learning experience. I learned how to work with others and fulfill the stores display needs.
Final Project Outcome
This window display was shown at Shakedown St. in Oneonta, New York.
What I did
While discussing with my partner Cheyenne, we agreed that we would feature winter and holiday outfits in the window display. While browsing the store, we were looking for dark colors with a pop of red to go with our theme. We wanted to incorporate a holiday outfit (on the right) and a new years event outfit (on the left) to show the holiday spirit. We had a lot of fun picking out different garments, trying on the different garments and deciding what works best for the window display.
What I learned
During this project, we were working under a time crunch because their employee was closing the store early due to there not being as many customers as expected. This helped us narrow down what we needed to look for and helps us work efficiently and effectively. This will help me in the future to be aware of deadlines while making sure I am prepared to meet the deadlines. I learned how important communication is because I was not working on this alone, so we had to use effective communication and try out different garments to make our ideas come to life. I believe this experience will help me work with new people in the future. Although before this project Cheyenne and I did not know each other, we were an excellent team!
