During my internship at Sweet Wink, I gained hands-on experience in the fashion industry. I had the opportunity to work with product preparation, order fulfillment, merchandising, and design. Throughout the internship, I learned how different departments work together to create children's clothing that is meaningful to children and their families.
Final Project Outcome
This photo shows a few of the shirts that I helped produce by heat-pressing Sweet Wink's designs onto the garments. These garments are sold on the company's website and are created after a customer places an order.
What I did
During my internship, I assisted with many daily tasks. I packaged customer orders, processed returns, labeled and organized inventory, prepared products for retail orders, and put together PR packages for influencers. I was able to observe meetings with the design team, learn about the product development process, and gain insight into how collections are planned and marketed. This experience gave me a well-rounded view of what it takes to run a successful business.
What I learned
I learned so much during my internship. I am so grateful to have had such a positive experience. I learned how many different roles work together to create a successful fashion brand. I also learned how important organization, teamwork, communication, and attention to detail are in such a fast-paced environment. I gained a much deeper understanding of merchandising and the design process.
What’s next for me
After completing this internship, I plan to complete my final year of college while continuing to build my understanding of fashion merchandising and marketing. I hope to pursue a career where I can turn my creativity into a business. My internship at Sweet Wink has given me so much inspiration and excitement for the future.
