About me
Hi! My name is Addison and I am from Chatham, NY. I am an early childhood and childhood education major with a minor in educational psychology. I have always been passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others, especially children. I have gained meaningful experience through both volunteering and working in elementary schools, as well as in childcare, and being involved in many youth activities. These experiences have strengthened my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills while teaching me the importance of patience, encouragement, and building positive relationships. I am excited to bring my passion for education and service to the Empire State Service Corps, where I hope to continue growing while making a meaningful impact in my community.
Why I serve
I was inspired to join the Empire State Service Corps because it gives me the opportunity to combine my passion for education with my desire to give back to my community. As an Elementary Education major, working directly with students in an elementary school will allow me to gain valuable hands-on experience while making a positive difference in the lives of children. I am excited to be part of a program that not only supports my future career as an educator but also allows me to become actively involved in and contribute to the community. I believe this experience will help me grow both personally and professionally while giving back in a meaningful way.
Fun fact
Something fun I would like to share about myself is my love for sports, especially softball. I have always enjoyed being involved in sports, whether I am playing, supporting a team, or helping out behind the scenes. Softball has taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, leadership, and perseverance, and it has been a meaningful part of my life. I also enjoy following and watching different sports in my free time, especially the New York Yankees!
